Deborah the Doula

A deeply personalized approach to pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care

The worddoula comes from the ancient Greek, meaning“a woman who serves.”
Today, it represents a trained professional who provides continuous emotional, physical, and informational support throughout pregnancy, birth, and the early postpartum period.

Working with Deborah is a highly individualized experience designed for families who are seeking more than just support on the day of birth.

With over 20 years of experience and attendance at more than 1,000 births, Deborah offers a comprehensive model of care that begins in pregnancy and continues into the early postpartum period. This work is rooted in education, preparation, and advocacy — ensuring you feel informed, confident, and fully supported in your decisions.

Throughout your prenatal visits, you will be guided through an in-depth process of understanding your options within your chosen birth setting. Together, you will develop a clear vision for your birth, build a personalized pain management plan, and prepare your partner to take an active and confident role.

This level of preparation allows Deborah to step into your birth not simply as your doula, but as an integrated and trusted member of your birth team — supporting you physically, emotionally, and informationally every step of the way.

Support includes:

  • Comprehensive prenatal coaching and birth preparation
  • Hands-on partner training and pain management planning
  • Continuous labor and birth support (including early labor at home)
  • Ongoing communication support beginning at 37 weeks
  • Postpartum guidance, recovery support, and follow-up care

This offering is intentionally designed to provide a high level of presence, continuity, and care for each client.
